UNO: A wonderful game for the Lockdown

In this Corona induced lockdown, UNO has provided us really wonderful insights about planning, mental alertness & maintaining peak fitness at all times.

My family consists of my wife, Maria & 2 daughters , Rose and Mia. I am basically allergic to card games. I somehow find a reason to avoid card games right from school, college, family reunions to informal meetups at office.

But this lockdown, sentenced me to playing at least 4 hours of UNO daily. The kids used to do e-learning for about 4 hours religiously. After that, there was a bout of UNO to loosen them up.

Mia couldn’t grasp the game on the first day. But because of the daily practice, she’s the star player now. She wins effortlessly. I also find, UNO helps in increasing the concentration span considerably.

I, being cardophobic, was always playing wrong moves or playing, when it wasn’t my turn. After the 2nd day, I could find myself to be following the game in play & start winning once in a while. I, also became quite alert in my deals.

I would suggest everyone to try their hand in UNO or any card game. I’m sure it’ll uplift them from the dismal gloom that has descended in our lives due to the stifled conditions imposed on us by the terrible pandemic.
